Iron and manganese removal

Iron and manganese cause brown and black discolouration and sediment in water. If your water supply  is clear when drawn from the ground , but turns brown later, then you have dissolved iron and /or manganese. If your water comes brown from the ground and/or contains black sediment then you have suspended or colloidal iron or manganese present.

It is critical when treating water that contains iron or manganese to properly establish the nature of the problem. The technique used for treatment must be suitable for the form in which the material must be dealt with.

Water Technology Ltd. have a selection of treatment methods available for treating iron and manganese.

The first step in treating this type of problem is a water analysis. This is followed by a discussion about the type of problem, the volume of water to be treated and the type of plumbing system in the home, hotel or factory.  At this stage our water quality advisors will recommend the most suitable method of treatment for your application and will provide a quotation.

High levels of iron and manganese can be very challenging to treat. However, using techniques that we have developed over years, we can now treat even exceptionally high levels.
